BC Challenger Program

Categories: 2016 and All Presentations.

This cheque was presented to Ian McLean, Chairman of the BC Challenger Program at their annual Directors meeting on December 13, 2016. BC Challenger is a program specifically designed to allow children with physical and cognitive disabilities to play baseball in a safe and fun environment. Each player has an abled “buddy” who helps them hit the baseball, run, walk, wheel chair etc. down the base paths as well as helps them when they are in the field.
The BC Challenger program has partnered with McDonald’s Restaurants and the Toronto Blue Jays and Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club to help develop the Challenger program both in B.C. and throughout the rest of Canada. The money raised at the 2016 McDonalds BC Challenger Celebrity Golf Classic (47,000) will go directly to benefit the Challenger programs in British Columbia as well as other Children programs . Presently, the BC Challenger program has 21 Chapters and are looking to bring on one more in 2017.
